Aseptic Baby, 2022
40 cm x 40 cm x 40 cm
Glass baby bottles imported during the Ottoman period, the doll named ‘Sweet Sue’ from the 1950s, tin baby carriages and marbles
Named after the term ‘aseptic’, meaning sterile, free from germs, the installation combines an antique baby bottle with an unusual shape sterilized in a glass showcase and a battered missing baby. The popular 1950s doll ‘Sweet Sue’ exhibited in a tin stroller was produced by “American Character Doll Company”, which has the patent of the first dolls that breathe, cry and drink milk from a bottle.
