Happily Ever After, 2023

Antique galvanized bathtub, toy tin castle, old photo novels ⠀

Inspired by the fairytale Cinderella written by French writer Charles Perrault in 1697 the “Happily Ever After” represents naive dreams and temporary tastes. Shoe origamis exhibited in the antique galvanized bathtub from the 1940’s were prepared from pages of photo novels published in Türkiye translated from Italian in 1974. The frail toy tin castle hidden in photo novels describing adventures of love and schemes was produced by the popular toy brand of 1950’s, Louis Marx and Company.⠀
