Light Switch Exhibition

Exhibition of Sevval Konyali named “Light Switch” inspired by the Cave Allegory metaphor of Plato, which the artist fantasized and curated in the scope of Curating Contemporary Art seminar series organized by Akbank Sanat x Open Dialogue Istanbul cooperation, witnesses discovery of the world by a freed prisoner among others that are tied to each other in chains in a cave.

The exhibition, featuring ten works of eight artists in various media, invites its audience to think together about a journey that starts from the simplest way of knowing and extends to the highest in the different types of knowledge which the soul passes through.

The exhibition features works by Aylin Sabi, Beyza Boynudelik, Cemal Nazım Arslan, Duygu Aydogan, Omer Ozçelik, Seda Boy, Sedat Ayhan and Seyda Gunonu. Title of the exhibition aims to point at the enlightenment of the intelligence and knowing capacity of beings and their ignorance.
